Two companies that operate in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) have come together to pool their experience and expertise, and to work together to offer better connected products to businesses. These two companies are ThingWorx and Telenor (News - Alert) Connexion. This collaboration was a natural extension of the capabilities of both the companies, since they share the common vision of helping companies get the most out of a connected world.

ThingWorx has created the first platform to build and run IoT applications. This platform consists of an application modeling environment, a drag and drop Mashup Builder, 3D storage, event-driven execution of applications, easy collaboration, search-based intelligence and flexible connectivity choices. These features are combined together to help businesses and developers to deploy ten times faster, and to evolve and grow the application along with the business. This innovative platform helps businesses to innovate their processes, reduce cost and risk, and even change the way people and systems connect with each other.

Telenor Connexion, on the other hand, offers a cloud-based platform called Cloud Connect that helps companies to expand their connectivity. This cloud platform gives businesses the opportunity to deploy a range of applications such as sensor technology. It also makes sharing and collaboration easy with its smart portal, global SIM and service portal features. Furthermore, its API gives developers the flexibility to create their own applications that can be deployed on Cloud Connect. Such applications allow companies to constantly monitor its performance, and also, gives a greater degree of control over applications and their usage.

Since both these companies offer complementary products that are designed to make companies more connected, the collaboration is a natural progression for them. This new collaboration is expected to benefit client companies in a big way because they can now have access to an end-to-end connected solution that allows companies to add connectivity to their products and services with relative ease.
